Cyanotype & gold on ceramic

Nací en Mar del Plata, Argentina, en 1976. La Fotografía en mi vida comenzó como un juego desde que tengo memoria, y a interesarme seriamente mientras vivía en Londres durante mi adolescencia, cuando mi papá me regaló mi primera cámara de fotos al cumplir 18 años. Desde entonces empecé a investigar y estudiar diversas técnicas, tales como: fotografía estenopeica (cámara oscura), laboratorio blanco y negro, cianotipia, fine art print, formato medio, procesos históricos de fotografía, combinando además técnicas experimentales utilizando tintas específicas y otros pigmentos sobre diferentes soportes, remitiéndome a los fotógrafos pictorialistas de fines del siglo XIX, convirtiendo de esta manera cada fotografía como obra única e irrepetible… luego vino la era digital, con la que fusiono técnicas plásticas.

Realicé más tarde la carrera completa en la Escuela de Fotografía Creativa Andy Goldstein, obteniendo promedio 10 (diez) con mi tesis "Las Tres Edades de la Mujer Sacra", proyecto con el cual me seleccionaron para representar a la Argentina en el Festival de Fotografía de Francia "Promenades Photographiques 2012". Luego realicé el Posgrado en Artes Visuales en la Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA), sobre Especialización en Medios y Tecnologías para la Producción Pictórica (tesis en desarrollo). Mi obra fue representada por importantes galerías como Zurbarán (Argentina) y Animal (Chile), alrededor del mundo en exposiciones individuales y colectivas como: Francia, EEUU, Chile, Panamá. Docente en la Carrera de Fotografía, titular de varias cátedras. Actualmente docente en diferentes escuelas y espacios de arte, capacitando a colegas y a otros artistas de diferentes disciplinas sobre Retrato Fine Art, Fotografía Botánica, Técnicas Fotográficas Antiguas y Experimentales. Mi casa-taller-estudio se encuentra en Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Después de hacer fotografías durante más de 25 años y seguir estudiando por un período prolongado en distintos lugares, en el caso de los retratos, me interesa principalmente crear todo desde cero. Elijo los "personajes" de mis relatos y realizo el vestuario y props según el concepto, montando la escena en donde me ayude a contar mejor la historia, generalmente en mi estudio, otras veces en la naturaleza.

En simultáneo realizo fotografía fine art botánica, fusionando técnicas históricas del 1800 con técnicas contemporáneas, en las que el dorado o plateado a la hoja son parte fundamental de la búsqueda estética como escenario de las plantas y flores. Elijo flora que pertenece a mi huerta orgánica y otras plantas nativas, destacando no sólo la belleza en los pequeños detalles, sino que además buscando que las personas al ver estas fotografías, tomen conciencia de la importancia de cuidar nuestras propias semillas.

Mi mayor búsqueda estética sostenida a lo largo de todo mi recorrido, reside en la condensación entre la luz, la alquimia, la atmósfera y el tiempo como poética.

I was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina in 1976. Photography began as a game for me as far back as I can remember, but it became a serious interest during my teenage years in London, when my father gave me my first camera on my 18th birthday. Since then, I have explored and studied various techniques—such as pinhole photography, black-and-white darkroom work, cyanotype, fine art printing, medium format, and others classic historical processes—while also incorporating experimental methods using specific inks and pigments on diverse substrates. Drawing inspiration from late 19th-century Pictorialist photographers, I transform each photograph into a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art. Later came the digital era, with which I now blend fine art techniques.

I later completed the full photography career at the Andy Goldstein School of Creative Photography, graduating with a perfect grade point average (10 out of 10) for my thesis, "The Three Ages of the Sacred Woman" (*Las Tres Edades de la Mujer Sacra*); this project led to my selection to represent Argentina at the "Promenades Photographiques 2012" festival in France. Subsequently, I pursued postgraduate studies in Visual Arts at the National University of the Arts (UNA), specializing in Media and Technologies for Pictorial Production (thesis currently in progress). My work has been represented by prominent galleries such as Zurbarán (Argentina) and Animal (Chile) and exhibited worldwide—including in France, the USA, Chile, and Panama—in both solo and group shows. Currently, I teach at various schools and art spaces, training colleagues and artists from diverse disciplines in Fine Art portraiture & botanical as well as historical and experimental photographic techniques. My home-studio is located in Buenos Aires City, Argentina.

After photographing for over twenty five years and pursuing extensive studies in various locations, I am primarily interested in creating everything from scratch. I select the "characters" for my narratives and craft the costumes and props to suit the concept, staging the scene in the setting that best helps me tell the story—usually in my studio, though sometimes in nature.

I also create fine art botanical photography, blending 19th-century historical techniques with contemporary methods. In this work, gold or silver leaf serves as a fundamental element of my aesthetic vision, providing a backdrop for the plants and flowers. I select flora from my own organic garden, as well as native plants, not only highlighting the beauty in the small details, but also with the aim that, upon seeing these photographs, people will become aware of the importance of safeguarding our own seeds.

My primary aesthetic pursuit, sustained throughout my entire body of work, lies in the condensation of light, alchemy, atmosphere, and time—conceived as a poetics.
